RootWyrm who Drives a Manual: “... I have no fucking idea how to measure pressure climb and at this point I’m afraid to ask. ”

Me: “ my car is uhhh we’ll see, ummm it’s not a manual”.
Followed quickly by: “ I wanted a manual but couldn’t find one in my price range at all and needed a car ASAP”.

Pretty much every “enthusiast”. It’s weird that people even suggest minivans for new families because they don’t have manuals.

Facebook Oppo has been a dumpster fire because of this crap lately.
As far as I’m concerned, anyone can drive whatever the hell they want and they can still be my friend. And I’m not going to make them feel bad about what they like.

Paging Long Voyager to provide manual minivans.

Ooh I’m gonna try the shifter butt thing. The one in my truck is long enough to really get up in there.

Pretty much any automotive forum . Let’s just agree there are both good and bad Automatics and manuals, even in 2018 model cars.

Make sure you use a lot of WD40 as lube

I didnt know there was a Facebook Oppo page and now I am immediately not interested.

This is why I avoided Facebook Oppo. All the circlejerk with none of the moderation.

My favorite m odel is not even offered with a manual transmission. Checkmate Manuele diehards.

If I go skiing for the first time, I'm probably not taking the black diamond slope first. Start small.

There are a few assholes that always insist on being shitty to others. It's pathetic.

Good call.

Or PB Blaster, depending on your situation.

I would very much like a B8 S4 with the DCT. Would be a phenomenal family car. Wife could drive it and be like “it’s a car” and I could drive it and play with the flappy paddles and be like “it’s a race car” . Unfortunately, there are less good automatics than there are bad ones.

Also, drive what makes you happy. Even if it’s a cvt.

You can’t spell " Manual” without “ anal”.

PB Blaster will definitely help more with removal if it is really stuck in there.

Why do you need one when you can just act like a stuck up manual masterrace elitist all the time ;)

Me, true story, a few years ago son wrecked his car (subie Impreza manual wagon) we decided to bequeath my car to him (99 Maxima SE manual), so I am stuck daily driving my 1974 BMW 2002 with no air conditioning (I know, I know, first world problems) until I can find a suitable replacement. Really want an RX8, but I have old cars I take care of, and really don’t want to spend much time or money wrenching on my daily, so I drive a Lexus IS300 and like it as well as anything else I have looked at except the RX, but the IS’s don’t blow up like the Doritos do, so I decide I am getting an IS. Try finding a manual that isn’t overpriced AND modded and beat to shit in the semi-rural Midwest. No luck.
And that is why my daily isn't a manual.

Manual 4th gen Maxima!? Im drooling right now. I drove my old Maxima the other day and even though its not fit for road service, probably ever again I still love that car with a passion. Its just sitting in t h e yard as an extra uninsured rust bucket. M y brother owns it now.

Y’know, I havent driven a truely bad manual in atleast 20 years. There are some numb clutches and notchy levers out there, but nothing for sale these days comes close to bad 80's sticks. Nobody who sells a manual transmission car in the US these days has the sort of gronky, vague, balky, wobbly, weakly synchro’d crap you used to find in cheap cars and American pickups back then. Hell, my tractors both have pretty decent manuals. The worst thing that tends to happ en these days is overly tall gear ratios in the name of efficiency. But I have driven some pretty shit autos recently (first gen FCA 9-speed for one)... Admitedly I have also driven some fantstic autos recently.

I bought it at about 3 years old and 40,000 miles had an extended warranty from Nissan to 5 years and 60k, which it never needed. Other than replacing ignition coils it was a dead reliable and a very nice package for a daily driver. Unfortunately my son had a collisions in a couple years and it got written off.
